Columbia State History Student Kayla Sewell Travels the Trace

Kayla Sewell of Santa Fe, TN, spent three days exploring the Natchez Trace as part of Columbia State Dr. Barry Gidcomb's History class.

"I have led students on this trip for several years now," said Dr. Barry Gidcomb. "It is an opportunity for students of history to see events within their context," he said. "The three day trip allows students to immerse in the isolated beauty of the Trace and helps people understand how some of the lively history that took place on the Trace could have unfolded as it did."
