Columbia State Nursing Graduate Katy Wood Honored in Pinning Ceremony

2012 Dec 15

Katy Wood was honored at a Pinning Ceremony being held at the Webster Athletic Center on December 14. The Pinning Ceremony is the moment when new graduates take the Nightingale Oath of Nursing and receive the Columbia State Pin which is worn on the uniforms of Registered Nurses.

Wood of Cornersville, TN, is one of 52 nursing graduates from the fall 2012 class of Columbia State. Commencement Ceremonies for all December 2012 graduates will take place on Saturday, December 15.

"We are so extremely proud of our nursing graduates," said Barbara Blum, Nursing Program Director. "They have each worked very hard to reach this day and they will carry on our tradition of educating nurses who are well-prepared to care for people in clinical settings."

"These men and women come from our programs in Columbia and Franklin, Tennessee and will enter the workforce as Registered Nurses once they have taken the national licensure exam," she said.
