2012 Dec 14

Dana Pierce has earned a AST in Teaching in the graduating class of December 2012 at Columbia State.

Pierce of Shelbyville, TN, is one of 366 students earning certificates of completion and degrees at the Commencement Ceremony to be held on Saturday, December 15 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Webster Athletic Center on the Columbia State campus in Columbia, TN.

"Nothing is more exciting than Commencement Day," says Janet Smith, President of Columbia State, "It is what every faculty and staff member comes to work every day to prepare students for."

The Commencement Charge to the Graduates will be given by Dr. Ken Moore, Mayor of the City of Franklin, and current Chair of the Columbia State Foundation.

In planning his address Mayor Moore says, "The future of our middle Tennessee community rests with each of these graduates. They will teach in our schools, give care to our ill, become our small business leaders and run our large companies."

"In no small measure we hope that these graduates will rise to leadership and return to our community a future made brighter for all of us because they have chosen to graduate from college."

The public is invited to Commencement ceremonies. Family and friends are encouraged to arrive early as seating is on a first come basis.
