Austin Peay State University has awarded the President's Community College Graduate Scholarship to graduates of a Tennessee Board of Regents Community College or Hopkinsville Community College for the fall semester.

Recent Columbia State Community College graduates, Megan Franz and Camrie Jacobson, received the 2018 Lipscomb University Transfer Trustee scholarship.

The Columbia State Community College Support Staff Council's "Chili/Soup Luncheon" fall fundraiser raised enough funds to award three student scholarships. Sixty-four students submitted scholarship essays as part of the application process which were judged by the Support Staff Council members. Other scholarship requirements required included that students were currently enrolled and attending Columbia State, have a 2.0 GPA or higher and an up-to-date and completed FAFSA. "It was an honor to lead the committee this year and be part of this project," said Kellie Gwin, Columbia State Enrollment Services processing clerk and support staff council chair. "The council had a tough time selecting the winners from this year's application pool." Scholarship winners, Sarah Houston (Franklin); Tamar Day (Spring Hill); and Christopher "Chase" Beard (Lawrenceburg) were appreciative of the $400 scholarship and all said that the funds will help pay for textbooks and other course fees.

AT&T presented a $5,000 contribution to Columbia State to support non-traditional, underserved students preparing for jobs requiring technology-based skills in Tennessee community colleges. The donation funds scholarships to help students begin a path toward completing their college degrees and is part of AT&T's $65,000 gift to the Tennessee Board of Regents.

Columbia State Community College student, Caitlyn McNabb, was announced as a semifinalist for the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, which provides up to $40,000 per year for each scholarship awarded. Nearly 3,000 community college students applied for the scholarship, and McNabb is one of 597 semifinalists selected. The JKC Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is the largest in the country that is aimed at community college students seeking to transfer to four-year institutions.

The Morning Pointe Foundation has recently partnered with Columbia State Community College to present the first Morning Pointe nursing scholarship.

A group of Columbia State Community College Youth Education Foundation Scholarship recipients recently met with YEF leaders to express their appreciation for their support of Tennessee Promise and Columbia State.

Columbia State Community College Williamson Campus student Iliana Martinez was recently awarded the Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raider Scholarship.
