The New Century Scholars program is sponsored by The Coca-Cola Foundation, Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, Phi Theta Kappa and the American Association of Community Colleges. The program shares a common application with the All-USA Community College Academic Team program, which recognizes outstanding community college students.

Five Columbia State Community College athletes have received 2013-2014 NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards.

Fifty-two nursing graduates received their nursing pins in a ceremony December 14 in the Webster Athletic Center of Columbia State. During the ceremony, the nursing students took the Nightingale Oath of Nursing and received the Columbia State Nursing Pin which is worn on the uniforms of Registered Nurses. Thirty-Five Columbia State freshman and sophomores are applying for Passports and packing their bags in anticipation of study abroad trips they have been approved to take as part of the Columbia State's Global Education program. Students are scheduled to study in one of eleven countries across the globe and several of those students are scheduled to tour a series of European or Eastern European Capital cities.
