Students were honored with undergraduate and graduate degrees at Southern Arkansas University's Summer Commencement ceremonies on August 3, 2018.

Troy University is pleased to recognize new students who have completed IMPACT orientation and enrolled in classes for the Fall 2018 semester.

The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Summer 2018 session. Eligibility for the summer session is based on a minimum 9-hour load over 10 weeks and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Spring 2018 graduate, States Labrum, recently earned second place in the zoology/ecology/environmental sciences session at Belmont University's College of Sciences and Mathematics when they hosted the annual Middle Tennessee Collegiate Meeting of the Tennessee Academy of Science. Labrum was the only community college student among the undergraduate participants at the conference. Twenty-four undergraduate research students from Belmont University, Columbia State Community College, Tennessee State University and Tennessee Tech University were invited to give a 12-minute research presentation in one of four different sessions: chemistry; cellular and molecular biology and microbiology; health and medical sciences; and zoology, ecology and environmental sciences. All sessions were moderated and judged by faculty volunteers, who awarded certificates to the top three presenters in each session. The meeting was coordinated and run by Dr. Duane Hatch, Belmont assistant professor of chemistry. The event presented an opportunity for students to showcase their scholarly work and to provide an intellectual exchange with students from other local universities in Tennessee. "Attending a conference is a great way for students to meet with peers, share ideas and make new contacts with other students and faculty," said Dr. Elvira Eivazova, assistant professor of biology. Columbia State participated in the TAS conference for the first time with plans to provide a broader research student representation at future TAS meetings. Plans are underway way for Columbia State to host a TAS student research conference in 2019.

Southern Arkansas University's Biological Honors Society, the Psi Gamma Chapter of Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta), inducted seven new members, honored 2018 graduates and recognized the organization's officers.

Austin Peay State University has awarded the President's Community College Graduate Scholarship to graduates of a Tennessee Board of Regents Community College or Hopkinsville Community College for the fall semester.

Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) formally recognized the Class of 2020 during a White Coat Ceremony on June 16, 2018. The White Coat Ceremony at LMU-DCOM is a special ceremony designed to mark a student's entrance into the clinical rotations of their medical school training.

A record 1,240 degrees were awarded. That tops the 2017 record of 1,165. An estimated 250 students graduated with honors. In the seven commencement ceremonies, 33 different degree programs were recognized, including the first graduates in the Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Athletic Training, Master of Science in Respiratory Care, Master of Science in Health Informatics and Bachelor of Science in healthcare administration programs in the College of Health Sciences. Graduating students represented 28 states and seven other countries: United Kingdom, Malaysia, China, France, South Korea, Canada and Germany.

More than 800 students received diplomas at Harding University's commencement exercises on May 5, 2018. Graduates include students from the College of Allied Health, College of Arts and Humanities, College of Bible and Ministry, Paul R. Carter College of Business Administration, Cannon-Clary College of Education, Carr College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Sciences, and the Honors College.

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) has announced that the following the Dean's List for the Spring semester of 2018. Four hundred and forty students were honored for high achievements in the classroom. To be placed on the Dean's List, the student must be a full-time undergraduate and have a 3.5 grade point average for the semester.

The Mississippi College Office of Academic Affairs releases the president's list after the close of fall and spring semesters each academic year. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average, based on a 4.0 system. The student must take a full course load of at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate credit with all academic courses impacting their grade point average.
