Fourteen veterinary technology program graduates were honored in a pinning ceremony May 3 at Columbia State Community College.

More than 430 students at Columbia State Community College were named to the dean's list for earning academic honors this spring.

Forty-eight students were named to Columbia State Community College's president's list for earning academic honors this spring.

Columbia State Community College students earned academic honors and were named to the dean's list for the fall 2013 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must earn 12 or more credit hours for the semester with a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Columbia State Community College students earned academic honors and were named to the president's list for the fall 2013 semester. To qualify for the president's list, students must earn 15 credit hours for the semester with a grade point average of 3.90 - 4.00.

Columbia State Community College's Arturs Bremers recently committed to play basketball at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University next fall.

Fifty-two nursing graduates received their nursing pins in a ceremony December 14 in the Webster Athletic Center of Columbia State. During the ceremony, the nursing students took the Nightingale Oath of Nursing and received the Columbia State Nursing Pin which is worn on the uniforms of Registered Nurses. Three members of the President's Leadership Society are set to graduate from Columbia State on Saturday, December 15 during Commencement Ceremonies scheduled to begin at 10am in the Webster Athletic Center on the Columbia, Tennessee campus of Columbia State. The graduating Society members are:

Thirty-Five Columbia State freshman and sophomores are applying for Passports and packing their bags in anticipation of study abroad trips they have been approved to take as part of the Columbia State's Global Education program. Students are scheduled to study in one of eleven countries across the globe and several of those students are scheduled to tour a series of European or Eastern European Capital cities. The trips are scheduled during the summer semester of 2013. Participating students include:

Students in Dr. Barry Gidcomb's US History and Tennessee History classes spent time in class and in the archives, the historical society and historical buildings in the community as part of the experience of living with history. Students volunteered to help out in these organizations working with historical documents, and assisting with visitors. The following students donated at least 15 hours of service:

Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society members from Columbia State will join volunteers from across Tennessee and the state of Kansas in the Memphis, Tennessee St. Jude Marathon during the weekend of December 1, 2012. Students from Columbia State who are participating in the St. Jude fundraiser include:

Columbia State will recognize the 23 members of the College Choir in a community concert scheduled for November 29. The concert, being held in the Ledbetter Auditorium on the main Campus in Columbia, will begin at 1pm. The following choir members will perform:

Whether they were keeping fires burning for Smores, policing the grounds, running concessions stands or greeting visitors, students were pitching in for this seasonal favorite destination. Nine History students from Columbia Sate explored the Natchez Trace Parkway in a three-day trip led by Professor Barry Gidcomb. Following the required preliminary reading of "Life and Travel Along the Old Natchez Trace", students traveled the length of the Trace, stopping at various historical sites along the way.
